17El tráfico y el consumo de drogas sigue siendo una de las principales lacras de nuestro país, con devastadores efectos sobre las familias afectadas y sobre la sociedad en general.
Por eso, la búsqueda de soluciones para esta problemática requiere del concurso, la implicación y la concienciación de todos. Desde los fundamentales programas de prevención a los de rehabilitación y reinserción social y laboral de los drogodependientes, la lucha contra las drogas debe ser una tarea común que las administraciones públicas tienen la responsabilidad de liderar y coordinar.
La Diputación de A Coruña mantiene desde hace años una línea de trabajo en este sentido, financiando y organizando programas de prevención que han permitido educar a nuestros jóvenes sobre las serias consecuencias derivadas del consumo de estupefacientes, promoviendo alternativas de ocio saludable y deporte y colaborando activamente con entidades que desarrollan su labor en el ámbito de la lucha contra las toxicomanías.
Entre ellas quiero destacar el importante trabajo que desde hace años viene desarrollando la Asociación Vieiro, poniendo en marcha programas integrales de lucha contra la drogadicción que han ayudado a muchas personas a liberarse de las redes de las drogas e iniciar una nueva vida.
Hoy nos toca agradeceros ese esfuerzo. El de tantas personas que cada día dedicáis vuestro tiempo, como profesionales o como voluntarios, a la prevención, tratamiento, rehabilitación e integración de las personas con problemas de drogas. Desempeñáis una labor social ejemplar y necesaria, para la que siempre contaréis con el apoyo de esta institución.
